About Me
Photography has always been about patience, precision, and the thrill of the chase. I currently live in Houston, Texas, working as an engineering manager for a large global company. While my day job focuses on structure and logic, landscape and wildlife photography serve as my ultimate escape. A chance to slow down, step away from the screen, and immerse myself entirely in the raw beauty of the natural world.
The Beginning
My obsession with the lens began when I was a young boy growing up in the UK. I was gifted a Kodak instant camera and back then film development was an expensive luxury, forcing me to be incredibly frugal and deliberate with every single press of the shutter. It is that early lesson in patience turned into pure creativity when my father introduced me to his 35mm Ricoh SLR. Suddenly, everything became a potential photograph.
The Evolution
Over the decades, my toolkit evolved alongside my passion. In 2004, I stepped into the digital world with my first DSLR, diving deep into the technical complexities of astrophotography.
The true turning point in my photographic journey came in 2018 when a move to Florida introduced me to the wild, unpredictable world of wildlife photography. The sheer abundance of dangerous yet beautiful creatures ignited a new spark.
The Now
Now the family road trips have evolved into what my family jokingly calls "Dad's photo trips." From the rolling mist of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the jagged peaks of the Rockies, Wyoming, and Utah, my artistic philosophy became simple: if there isn’t a shot at home, pack up the gear and go find one. I rarely travel these trails alone. My youngest daughter, currently in college, is my partner in crime often waking in the early hours or staying out late. Sharing a mutual passion for photography, she is right there beside me, framing her own views of the world as we explore these vast wildernesses together.
My Wish
When you look at the images in my gallery, whether it is the fleeting alpenglow hitting a frozen mountain face or the solitary line of a desert highway, I don't expect you to analyze the technical details. My only hope is that you simply enjoy the view, and perhaps catch a brief glimpse of the exact feeling I had standing out there in the elements, waiting for the perfect light to break.
